This site was created by me, Brian Pattison, with the hope of finding my next apartment with ease. My current roommate is getting married in September 2010 (congratulations!), so I know I'll be forced to move soon enough.
I hate moving, and I really hate trying to find a new place. Classified ads, terrible websites, and driving around town looking for "For Rent" signs always had me thinking, "There has to be an easier way." Long story short, I never found one, so I had to create one myself.
Open Source
Rent.FM couldn't exist without the help of some great open source software: Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, jQuery, and Linux are the main technologies used for Rent.FM. Oh, and GitHub is the greatest repository of Rails plugins EVER! :-)
